Strawberry jam

I love this recipe from the amazing Deliciously Ella.

Alex and I knocked this up in about 15 minutes yesterday and she absolutely loves it!

We just used two ingredients – strawberries and honey.  Ella adds chia seeds but I didn’t want to add anything that could potentially be viewed with suspicion by two small children!

We made a fairly small amount just to test their tastebuds – and we need to make some already!


  • 300g strawberries
  • 80g local raw honey/Manuka honey


  1. Melt the strawberries and honey together on a low heat, stirring all the time until the strawberries break down (physically, not emotionally).
  2. Use a potato masher to squish up the mixture, and carry on heating and stirring for about 10 minutes until you see them becoming a beautiful jammy mush.
  3. Leave to cool for about 10 minutes and pour into a jar – tuck in, and refrigerate what’s left (it’ll keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks)
